The Maison

We do not make objects to be replaced. We make heirlooms — slowly, by hand, in the valley where these crafts were born six centuries ago.

Signature piece

Khurasan
in madder red

Named for the eastern province of historic Persia, the Khurasan unfolds from an ivory-and-saffron medallion into a dense garden of palmettes and scrolling vines on a madder-red ground. Nearly four and a half million knots of pure silk give it a lustre that shifts as you walk around it — a centrepiece for a formal drawing room or a private library.

The arithmetic of patience

Every knot, tied by hand.

A Kashmiri silk carpet is read from the talim — a coded script the weaver chants, row by row. Size your carpet and see what a master weaver will give it.
