The story of the piece

Jaal means net. The sozankar lays a fine trellis of vines and blossoms across the entire shawl, stitch by stitch, in a single thread colour that lifts the pattern from the cloth without crowding it. Tone on tone on ivory and camel, or bright against jet, crimson and midnight — quiet from across a room, astonishing at arm's length.
